Simple present tanse dan present continous

Simple Present Tense

Subject + Verb1 + Object

Suatu kallimat yang menunjukan kejadian yang berlangsung secara rutin (kebiasaan,adat istiadat dan kebenaran umum) dan ditandai dengan keterangan waktu, diantaranya:

Every, once, twice, at night, in the morning, on Sunday, in Desember

Do        (I, You, We, They)

Does     (She, He,It)

·         Untuk orang ketiga tunggal (she,he,it) + s atau es

·         Untuk orang pertama,kedua dan ketiga jamak

·         Apabila kata kerja untuk orang ketiga tunggal berakhiran “Y” dan didahului huruf vocal kata kerja itu ditambah “S”

·         Dan jika berakhiran “Y” dan didahului oleh huruf konsonan maka “Y” berubah menjadi

·         Penambahan akhiran “es” hanya untuk kata kerja yang berakhiran s,x,ch,sh dan o

·         Untuk orang pertama,kedua dan ketiga jamak (I,you,we,they) kata kerjanya tidak berubah

Kata-kata yang termasuk dalam simple present tense:

Generally,always,usually,sometimes,never,seldom,often,frequently,occasionally.

Present Tense

1.      I always wake up early in the morning.

2.      I take a bath at 5 a.m.

3.      I have breakfast at 6 o'clock.

4.      I go to school after breakfast.

5.      I sometimes go to school by bus.

6.      I arrive at school before the bell rings.

7.      The lesson starts at 7 a.m.

8.      I have a break at 9 o'clock.

9.      I go home at 1 p.m.

10.  I have lunch after school.

Simple Present Continous Tense

Subject + is,am,are, + Verb1 + ing + object

Suatu kalimat yang menunjukan kejadian yang sedang berlangsung. Ditandai dengan keterangan waktu sebagai berikut :

Now, at present, at this moment, today, at this time, right now.

Kata-kata dibawah ini tidak boleh ditambah “ing” sebagai Simple Present Continous Tense, kecuali untuk “Gerund”

Present Continous Tense

1. I am reading this book now
2. This flood is destroying my village today
3. Baby is crying in the cradle at present
4. Ami is working on that task
5. We are watching a concer of Katty Perri right now
6. They're playing ball in the yard now
7. The teacher was explaining the lesson
8. We are reading a magazine now
9. Budi, To'o and Aan is discussing right now
10. Is Mrs. Wulan cooking in the kitchen ?
